Safety

Safety and security have become entangled in all areas of life in the modern world. My prediction is that overall safety will finally be better understood during the decade of 2020. The threats of the future must be prepared for already today.

Technology

Things are better than we even remember them to be. We are on our way towards a better future, owing to technological innovations. Without technology there would be no rise in the standard of living. Therefore we must ensure that we secure high competence in the future too.

Education

Education has made the Finnish society what it is today: a Nordic success story. Education is the key to social participation and the only way to build a better tomorrow.

In service for Finland for the past 25 years

In the modern world, security and politics are more and more connected to each other. Nowadays almost all politics is related to security.

Democrazy needs to be strengthened. During these times when we need to focus on building up together, politics that tears down has become ever more common in Finland and world wide. That is why Finland needs decision makers that understand political mechanisms and realities, and that have experience of demanding responsibilities even outside politics.

I started my service in the Finnish Defence Forces in 1995 and graduated as an officer from the National Defence University a few years later. Since then I have worked for Finland’s and the Finnish peoples’ security, first as a professional soldier and then as a CEO in the security sector and as an expert in the international security field. I am a professor of practice, master in military science, docent in three universities and a member of the World Economic Forum – and a father of three from Espoo.

Democracy needs someone to stand up for it. I believe that in the coming 25 years I will serve my home nation best by doing constructive politics that goes beyond party boundaries. It is time to take responsibility and that is why I stand as candidate in these elections. The municipal elections will be held in April 2021.
